COATING PREPARATION:
HI TEMP LADLE KOTE 410 should be mixed with a pneumatic or an electric mixer. Material must be mixed thoroughly in its container before diluting.
Caution: This coating should be protected from freezing at all times. Severe freezing could cause the coating to settle out.
Coating can be adjusted by water to an appropriate viscosity level. Recommended levels are as follows:
1. Viscosity 3000 CPS - 4000 CPS
(Brookfield Viscometer using Spindle 3 @ 20 RPM)
2. Baume'
a. Brushing 76% - 84%
b. Spraying 78% - 88%
Coating should be kept in the original container with closed lids to prevent drying out.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
- Prior to applying coating on a surface, the surface should be well prepared by removing all foreign materials such as dust, grease etc.
- The best temperature of the surface to coat is 90°C to 120°C.
- Coating can be applied by brushing, spraying or dipping.
For brushing, use a soft brush with long hair.
For spraying, the best application is to use a spraying system with a 1" or a 1/2 " Teflon diaphragm pump with a large 7.5 mm spray tip.
- We recommend to apply 2 to 3 coats. Each new coat should be applied on a dried surface.
- Coating should be air dried or light heat can be applied after 15 minutes of air drying. Avoid an open fire immediately on the surface to prevent blistering.
- The coating will change color from dark blue to a light blue when dried.
- Before contact with molten metals, be sue the coated surface is completely dried.
- All equipment used for the application of coating should be washed or rinsed by plenty of water when finished so that equipment will not be damaged.
SAFETY PROCEDURES:
- Wear required~personal protective equipment whenever handling this material. The required equipment is safety glasses with rubber or regular gloves.
